A new outlook on life
Being a journalist gives you a new outlook on life. It challenges you to look at different points of view than your own, let go of your own beliefs, and give people the rawest, most unbiased story possible. I’ve learned that the vocabulary you use can make or break the message you’re trying to get across. Personally, I am a very stubborn writer and that really presented me with a challenge when I had to write about things I didn’t necessarily agree with. The best thing I’ve taken away from this experience is the way it’s opened my mind. I’ve met some amazing people and learned skills that I’ll take with me through the rest of my life. I hope The Sentinel continues to put out interesting, unbiased stories for the student body.
