Finals Study Hacks

January 15, 2016

The first semester of school is coming to an end and finals are approaching. No one knows what to expect when going into their finals. It is completely normal to feel unprepared and anxious, but it is also extremely important not to stress or be overwhelmed. Overall, our health and wellbeing is vital in order to function properly.

Before thinking about pulling an all-nighter, cramming information the night before, or giving up completely on the subject, here are a few study hacks that may be helpful as you prepare for finals:

  1. Avoid procrastinating do not wait until last minute because your mind will not be able to retain all of the information in a short period of time.

  1. Keep study space clean and organized think minimalistic.

  1. Avoid studying in your room you are likely to nap instead of study!

  1. Study with a friend help motivate each other and create a document on Google Drive to share with friends.

  1. Take breaks in between studying the brain needs a break in order to absorb the information.

  1. Remember to eat and stay hydrated drink plenty of water and eat a well balanced diet.

  1. Stay on task avoid social media when using electronics to study and do not be distracted.

  1. Get plenty of sleep overworking our brains will defeat the purpose of studying.

These are just a few study hacks to help survive finals. If you have found an efficient way to help you study, stick with it and try to incorporate some of these tips if not done so already. The most important thing is to allow yourself some time to rest and do not exhaust yourself by studying. By preparing in advance and taking good care of yourself, we have achieved the ultimate study hack. Good luck, Broncos.
