Gabriella Toranski, class of 2023, is a Staff Writer for the Sentinel. She enjoys writing and she is also an actor, performing in Northgate’s drama program. She  started in journalism her freshman year. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and painting landscapes.

Northgate teachers including history and sociology teacher Christine Reimer, government and economics teacher Jon Burchett and math teacher Dana Tarantino joined dozens of teachers who picketed March 18 . The teachers and those at other district schools were letting families arriving in the morning know the teachers were preparing to strike.

Controversy abounds over the use of the electoral college as well as the alternative in deciding presidential elections. This map of the 2020 presidential election results shows in red the states whose electoral votes went to incumbent Republican candidate President Donald Trump and states in blue whose votes went to challenger and former Vice President Joe Biden. At 306 to 232, Biden became the 46th president.
