What do Marsha P. Johnson, Harvey Milk, Andre Lorde, RuPaul Charles, Larry Kramer, Billie Jean King all have in common? The defender of trans rights, the first openly gay San Francisco Supervisor and activist, the warrior poet, the “Queen of Drag”, the activist and the tennis star-turned champion of equity equity have all been mavericks, outspoken defenders of equity and LGBTQ rights. Additionally, they and their accomplishments are highlighted as part of Northgate’s Pride Month recognition of equity and acceptance on a bulletin board in the central hallway leading past rooms 51 and 50 to the atrium area, thanks to students and Leadership teacher Jen Collier.
