A storm from Feb. 15 to 17 that inundated the Sierra Nevada mountain range with six feet or more of snow dumped about 3″ of water on the Walnut Creek and Concord areas and also blanketed white tops of Mt. Diablo State Park, seen here above Northgate. According to the weather service, Mt. Diablo recorded up to 6″ in pockets of the mountainside and about 3″ at the peak. When skies cleared, Northgate was business was usual, with PE classes gathering on the blacktop in chilly temperatures in the high 50s, as seen in this photo from Thursday Feb. 19.
